Back to School...

The first day of school has come and gone. It is so hard to believe that summer is over but I am also very glad to be back to our routines and schedules. The kids went off to school and I was able to get some cleaning and errands run. We managed to have a peaceful evening with dinner together at the kitchen table (which unfortunately does not happen often). I am thankful that my hubby made it home for us to eat together and the kids were able to tell him about their first day of school. I am planning to have dinner at the kitchen table together again tonight......our evening schedules with Girl Scouts and church activities do not allow us enough time to do this every night.

Here are some pictures from the bus stop yesterday...

Arin was nervous and excited at the same time. I am happy to report that she has a very good day and made a new friend!

Kenneth was all smiles as usual...excited to be going back to school. Of course he had a wonderful day!

and here comes the bus....

and there goes the bus taking my babies off to school.

and just because I LOVE this picture...
This is at the bottom of our driveway where we wait on the bus. Our postcard picture is how Arin and I described it!

Yes, as I walked back to the house I was overcome with a full range of emotion. I was a little sad and thankful at the same time that the house will be quiet on Mondays and Fridays (I don't teach on those days). I was feeling nervous and anxious for Arin due to her reservations at the start of her day. I was excited for Kenneth who was so ready to start his first grade year. And I was also saddened that my beautiful niece, Morgan, started her senior year. Yes, I shed a few tears...but then I enjoyed the peace and quiet of my house! All in all the first day of school was a HUGE success for both of my babies :) And today I am off to start preparing my classrooms. My WRE classes do not start until after Labor Day. So I get two extra weeks to get my rooms clean and in order!

Until next time....may your heart be merry and your day be blessed :)
